BCMC Social Distance, Still Great Music!

During COVID-19, BlackCat Music Cooperative has adhered to all social distancing procedures. We have conducted classes with Zoom and provided guest motivational speakers for our students. Our dedicated instructors and mentors have given more of their time to expand class days and schedule times that would be convenient for all.

Just recently, Instructor Mike Kligerman and Executive Director Janet Gauthier, decided to split classes into groups of three or four students for more personal instruction. More classes for Mike, but he enjoys so much watching the growth of our students. Thanks Mike! Here’s Mike with some of our Young Yuke students on our back deck, socially distanced and with PPE.

BCMC Youth Groups Shine in Hancock Performance!

Congratulations to our Young Yukes, Yukies and Youth Vocal Group for a wonderful performance on Friday, February 21st at the Hancock Performing Arts Center. The groups were responsible for selecting their own songs, creating a playbill, making posters, setting the stage, deciding the theme and even setting up chairs in the audience. Thus, they were called, “Just Us.”

The students continue to excel and grow under the leadership of instructors, Mike Kligerman, Jonathan McBee and Executive Director, Janet Gauthier!

Your love and generosity will make sure that musical education programs for our area youth will continue. Funding will also be used for instruments, qualified instructors and new programs! Thank you so much!!
