BlackCat Music Cooperative (BCMC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower youth through music! Founded in Berkeley Springs, WV in 2017, BCMC provides in- and after-school learning and performance opportunities for local kids in a safe, nurturing, positive environment. Research has shown that music and arts programs improve student self-confidence and success. However, due to budget cuts at every level, there are insufficient high-quality music programs in our community. BCMC is focused on quality instruction, mentorship, parent-child involvement and community engagement.
BCMC offers music classes, personal instrument instruction, mentoring and performance opportunities to young people where they are engaged, challenged and empowered as they grow their skills and creativity under caring adult and youth mentors. We have an active outreach that fosters mutually supporting relationships with other non-profit and volunteer organizations.
